The “I” in Indian

Aria Kapoor had it all—a thriving career, best friends, and a stylish home curated with her signature eye for design and a soft spot for Bollywood soundtracks. The only thing missing? The traditional life every “good” Indian girl was supposed to want. But just because Aria didn’t follow the expected path doesn’t mean she isn’t a sucker for a dramatic Bollywood ending.

She’s not opposed to love—she just isn’t sure she deserves it. A misstep from her past still haunts her, and the weight of family expectations threatens to script her future.

But when one man unexpectedly enters her life, he challenges everything she thought she knew about love, identity, and who she’s allowed to be.

Can Aria break free from old narratives and embrace her own happily ever after?

The “I” in Indian is a laugh-out-loud, heart-squeezing, joyfully defiant novel about cultural clashes, messy love, and finding the strength to write your own story.

Reviews for The “I” in Indian

This book is a fun & easy read. I liked the theme of self acceptance, and how when one can truly accept their identity and past/present, that’s when healing can begin.

What a ride! I was engaged from the first chapter and didn’t put the book down until I was done. The characters, the honesty in the stories, and the vulnerability of Aria really stuck out to me. She took you with her throughout the journey, and at times felt so relatable that I lost myself in it!
